Zach Zitur has many years of playing and teaching experience. He played for Concordia College Moorhead and is currently the Head coach for the Women’s Team there. He has been teaching here at Courts Plus on a regular basis and is also now our resident Pickleball Pro and can help you reach the next level!

Nate Young is a Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified Pro as of 2018. Nate previously went to college at VCSU where he played club tennis for a semester. After this Nate transferred to MSUM and founded the MSUM Club Tennis Team. He served as Club President for two years. Nate also received the USTA Northern Sectional Leader of the year award in 2018. Currently Nate is the Head Coach for the Concordia Men’s Tennis Team.

Marjorie has been teaching tennis for over 30 years and is an Elite member of the United States Tennis Association. Marjorie is also the JV coach for both boys & girls tennis at North High School. She played varsity tennis for Colorado State University where she was awarded MVP. Her expertise is in taking students to the next skill level by developing technically sound strokes & consistency. She also has many years of experience coaching mens & women’s USTA doubles teams and helping them to qualify to the national level. Marjorie’s love for tennis shows by bringing lots of enthusiasm to the tennis court!

Jerry is originally from Fargo and has been a professional with us for many years. He is well known and respected in the local tennis community. Jerry was awarded the USPTA Northwest Division Coach of the Year for 2003. Jerry has the ability and experience to teach the novice player as well as the national ranked player.

Damien was an all-state athlete in high school at Fargo Shanley. Damien currently coaches the MSUM Women’s Tennis Team, as well as both the girls and boys teams at Shanley. Damien would love to work with you and take your skills to the next level!

Shaelyn played for Grand Forks Red River, and started on varsity as a 7th grader. She went on to be a 3 time state singles champion. She graduated in 2020 and continued her tennis career at Bemidji State University where she earned a spot on the all NSIC doubles team as a freshman, and both all NSIC teams for singles and doubles as a sophomore. She will finish out her college career at NDSU.

Finnian played varsity tennis for Shanley High School beginning in 7th grade. While at Shanley he got fourth place in doubles two years in a row and took third place in singles his senior year. He is currently studying physical education at NDSU.

A Fargo native, David helped lead Fargo South to a state title in 2015 and was named Mr. Tennis for the state of North Dakota. He then continued his playing career at Concordia College, earning all-conference accolades. After college, David spent two years coaching in the Twin Cities at Edina Country Club and Lifetime. With experience coaching players of all levels, David firmly believes that high performance directly correlates with enjoyment and developing a lifelong love of tennis.

STAR JUNIOR TENNIS
Our Stars Junior Tennis program uses a progressive court system that uses 36’, 60’ and 78’ (regular size) tennis court. Coupled with ensuring the proper racquet length and using different types of tennis balls based on age and ability, our goal is to get your child playing tennis as soon as possible. This system gives your child a visible progression to maximize their improvement.

MXP is competitive training for the serious junior tennis player. Stroke production, singles and doubles strategy, footwork and mental toughness will be stressed.

For players age 8-10 who are ready for tournament play. Focus on stroke development as it pertains to point play and strategy. Players MUST be able to serve on the appropriate court and be able to rally. 10 yr old and younger players will use primarily orange and green balls. Lessons include 2 hours of practices per week. Looking for a way to get involved during the spring in tennis while having the flexibility to pick which dates you can attend?
Look no further than our Spring 13+ Competitive Drop-in Drill Group! This drill-group is geared for individuals who are top JV/Varsity tennis players.
When will drill-group meet? Drill group will meet on Mondays from 4:30-6:00 P.M., and Wednesdays 5:00-6:30 P.M.
What dates does this drill-group run? The first day will be Wednesday, April 3rd and the last will be Wednesday, May 15th. All dates are included in the google-sheet as well.
Cost: $20 for members, $35 for non-members.

Grade 7-12 Summer Monday/Tuesday Night Drop-in Drill Group 8:00-9:30 P.M.
The Monday/Tuesday Night Drop-in drill group is a great way for players to get out and play against other kids in the area. This drill-group will run on Mondays and Tuesday nights from 8:00-9:30 P.M.
The skill level will be upper JV/ Varsity and is $17.50 per time.
The drill-group will be held at Discovery Middle School.

Summer Team Tennis is the largest junior recreational tennis league in the country!
