Zach Zitur has many years of playing and teaching experience. He played for Concordia College Moorhead and is currently the Head coach for the Women’s Team there. He has been teaching here at Courts Plus on a regular basis and is also now our resident Pickleball Pro and can help you reach the next level!

Nate Young is a Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified Pro as of 2018. Nate previously went to college at VCSU where he played club tennis for a semester. After this Nate transferred to MSUM and founded the MSUM Club Tennis Team. He served as Club President for two years. Nate also received the USTA Northern Sectional Leader of the year award in 2018. Nate coached the Shanley Deacons for 6 years total between both the girls and boys teams respectively, and was the coach of the Concordia Men’s Tennis Team for 3 years.

Marjorie has been teaching tennis for over 30 years and is an Elite member of the United States Tennis Association. Marjorie is also the JV coach for both boys & girls tennis at North High School. She played varsity tennis for Colorado State University where she was awarded MVP. Her expertise is in taking students to the next skill level by developing technically sound strokes & consistency. She also has many years of experience coaching mens & women’s USTA doubles teams and helping them to qualify to the national level. Marjorie’s love for tennis shows by bringing lots of enthusiasm to the tennis court!

Jerry is originally from Fargo and has been a professional with us for many years. He is well known and respected in the local tennis community. Jerry was awarded the USPTA Northwest Division Coach of the Year for 2003. Jerry has the ability and experience to teach the novice player as well as the national ranked player.

Shaelyn played for Grand Forks Red River, and started on varsity as a 7th grader. She went on to be a three-time state singles champion. She graduated in 2020 and is now a tennis player at MSUM as a graduate student.

Finnian played varsity tennis for Shanley High School beginning in 7th grade. While at Shanley he got fourth place in doubles two years in a row and took third place in singles his senior year. He is currently studying physical education at NDSU.

STAR JUNIOR TENNIS
Our Stars Junior Tennis program uses a progressive court system that uses 36’, 60’ and 78’ (regular size) tennis court. Coupled with ensuring the proper racquet length and using different types of tennis balls based on age and ability, our goal is to get your child playing tennis as soon as possible. This system gives your child a visible progression to maximize their improvement.

Transportation and Lodging is on the participant if traveling to the section championships.
Players will be sent a survey to fill out to indicate their interest in attending these tournaments on Wednesday, June 2nd. These tournaments are not a requirement of the program.
